Lovely Clusters

Here in the UK, spring has finally sprung don’t you think?  I’ve just popped out to get some fruit salad for my lunch and the sun is shining, people are walking around without their coats and no doubt some are thinking that if this nice weather sticks around, well, time to ditch the winter blacks and bring out the lighter brighter clothing and accessories.
If you are that person and needing some inspiration of what colour combinations to try out for spring, or indeed want to treat yourself to say, some new earrings or accessories for the home – I suggest you go check out Rachel Follet’s Lovely Clusters Spring 2011 Catalogue.
To whet your appetite – here are pages 6 & 7  from the catalogue!

Broken Ghost Couture – One Of A Kind Reconstructured Clothing

Jana Foehrenbach, of Broken Ghost Couture “creates unique, fashion forward pieces with a lot of feminine flair”.
Jana has been an artist all her life and says “I’ve created in many different mediums such as oil painting, floral design, home decor and mural painting. Being an owner of a consignment shop for 6+ years, I saw so many textiles go to waste”.  Thus, at age 43 Jana began designing clothing.
“I have become very passionate about creating unique one-of-a-kind clothing using vintage and pre-loved fabrics”, she claims.
Jana has done tremendously well with her design work!  She says “I showed my Spring/Summer 2010 Collection at Alberta Fashion Week. Soon after, I won a Global Fashion Designer Search competition and won! From that win, I was given a spot at the prestigious Vancouver Fashion Week and showed there in October 2009”.
She also takes special orders and will happily work with you to design an outfit that takes your eye – in a different colour or size.  If she is unable to provide the exact same fabric, she aims to find something very similar!

Go check out what Jana has in store for Spring 2010!

The pink ribbon has become an international symbol of breast cancer awareness.
Jewllery Artisan – Judy Shelton of JUMA Jewelry has created this  beautiful necklace in honour of her sister-in-law, Thelma, who is a breast cancer survivor of 5 years.   Judy says she is proud of Thelma and that she constantly teaches her the real meaning of life.

Judy has metalsmithed the frame of the ribbon pendant out of sterling silver. She has then meticulously wirewrapped the inside with tiny Swarvoski pink crystals.
