Live Life From The Heart

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Live With Integrity, Speak Your Truth

Living with integrity means: Not settling for less than what you know you deserve in your relationships. Asking for what you want and need from others. Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension. Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values. Making choices based on what you believe, and not what others believe.    Barbara De Angelis

Internationally known crystal expert, astrologer, psychic, healer, author, broadcaster and workshop facilitator – Judy Hall, in her definitive guide to crystals -The Crystal Bible – states that Amethyst is an extremely powerful and protective stone with a high spiritual vibration.

Amethyst (which just happens to be my favourite crystal) has a very calming and soothing influence and is good to hold when meditating.  It belongs to the quartz family and ranges in colour from deep violet to a light lavender. It’s name derives from a Greek word “Amethustos” which means ‘not intoxicated’, as it was believed to protect against drunkenness.

The colour purple has long been associated with royalty and amethyst has been used since time to adorn royalty and is even  featured in the British Crown Jewels.

Amethyst  is a stone used by many healers and energy workers because of it’s versatility and ability to transmute negative energies.  Some of the many healing properties associated with this gemstone are:

Aid in opening up/increasing ones pyschic abilities

Increase spiritual awareness and guidance

Assist in eliminating headaches

Relieve insomnia

Reduce depression

Balance hormones

Help with and mood swings, anger, anxiety, fear

Guard against pyschic attack

Assist in ridding an invidual of addictions (i.e. alcohol, smoking, etc)

Protection against negative influences (i.e. thieves – when travelling)

Some people use it in elixers to  help treat symptoms such as arthiritis or any of the above, either as a drink, to bathe in or rub on affected areas of the body .  Others carry tumble stones and amulets (some of which are designed to be worn as a piece of jewellery).
