Electric Kitsch is a new pop up shop based in The Village Green, Hackney Downs Studios, East London. Set up by Caroline, Fabrice and Vixie who have over the years held and shared stalls at various craft markets across London, including Camden and Tooting. The shop hosts an eclectic collection of accessories, jewellery, clothes, prints, illustrations, cards and homewards, plus vintage goodies, from local and London wide designers and makers (including myself).
I popped in on Saturday to drop of some stock and was given a warm and friendly welcome (including a cool refreshing sparkly drink which was very much needed as it was such a hot sunny day).
Caroline, spent time showing me around the shop and creatively displayed my button accessories and fabric corsages, as vintage records played in the background and customers had their nails done at the pop up nail bar located in the shop.
Exhibition/showcase spaces are still available to rent. The shop is not in a high street location and thus, rental prices are very reasonable. If you are interested, you can contact Caroline via email: or if you just want to know more about events, sales, contests and giveways they will be hosting from time to time, follow them on Facebook. Of course, if you are present buying or just want to treat yourself to something unique and special, pop into the shop! Did I buy anything? Of course I did, I treated myself to some gorgeous lavender dead sea & epsom bath salts handmade by Ville De Fleurs.
Opening times: 12pm-5pm from Wednesday to Sunday, staying open until 9pm on Thursdays.
Address: Electric Kitsch, Unit 7, The Village Green – Hackney Downs Studio, Amhurst Terrace, Hackney, London E8 2BT.
